So Long, Summer! Part 2

Summer came to a busy end for us!  Daddy was in a golf tournament on the golf course we live on which meant we had a perfect opportunity to meet him for a short golf cart ride.  Golf carts are common in our neighborhood and luckily our wonderful neighbors take Cooper and I on daily rides!
Daddy's employees hosted an end-of-summer BBQ at a family farm which was super fun and cool!  The farm had tons of cows for us to look at.  Asher was a good tour guide, showing us where the cows lived and most importantly, where the hay was for feeding.
Asher and Cooper against a herd of cows????  Good thing we didn't find out!
We had high hopes to see the Mama cow give birth, but it didn't happen while we were there.  Fortunately, we did get a chance to see an hours old cow and it was silly to see how clumsy it was.
The next day, we headed to the MN Zoo to meet up with Baby Jimmy, Auntie Karri, and Uncle Jim.  We rode on the monorail, explored the indoor exhibits, and dodged raindrops at the farm exhibit.  We had to end our outing short due to the weather, but we still had a great time!
Cooper was AMAZED by the shark feeding (see the scuba diver in the window pointing).  Cooper decided he did not like the guy breathing like Darth and backed up quickly saying, "NO, NO" and that was the end of the show.
One last pitstop to see the silly penguins, one of our favorites!
After the zoo, we went to Uncle Ben, Auntie Erin, Kyra and Bennett's new house in MN!  We are so happy they are all moved into their beautiful home.  They only live 2 hours from us now and their house is simply amazing!  We had a great time riding around on their golf cart (they also live on a golf course) and we even settled in to watch a movie (see our 3 heads!?!?!)
A few days later (and yes, Cooper is in the same shirt as the above photos- he insists on dressing himself in favorite shirts these days), we had some fun outdoor play.  Cooper likes to dress up and "help" Daddy with jobs.  On this special day, he said he was making a "Ho-Ho House"....interpretation~ he was building Santa's house.
Cooper has amazing motor skills- he can pedal his tricycle and a bike easily.  Normally, our parents insist we wear helmets but with Mommy trying to capture some photos, she temporarily lost sanity.
Can you tell that Cooper likes wearing goggles?!?!  The Dude hat has been replaced.
Bennett gave me his Skuut to use since I am working on riding a 2 wheel bike. This is an amazing training device!  I am getting quite confident, a bit too much.  I make revving sounds and pretend I am a motorcycle and zoom off with my legs behind me.
 Whooooooaaaaaa!
My exact words after my crash as I am gazing into the blue sky.... "MOM, how far up is heaven????"
Cooper came to the rescue and told me "NO, NO" which means he doesn't think this is funny at all.  I decided to call it a day.
We celebrated Auntie Karri and Daddy's birthday at Uncle Bruce, Auntie Stefanie, Lexi and Sam's house.  Papa and Grandma Sharon also came for a pool party and Alaskan fish fry.  Papa and Grandma Sharon went on an Alaskan cruise and returned with delicious Halibut.  We grilled it, ate it, and loved it!  We like going to Auntie and Uncle's house because they have a pool=fun!!!
Yikes, Daddy looks a bit scary looking back at this photo of him!
We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house that night and per tradition, Mommy and Grandma made sauerkraut.  I was a good helper with mashing the stinky cabbage.  4 weeks until we have kraut and better yet, we are glad we kept the crock at Grandma's house :)
That night, we had a bonfire with Sam and Lexi- we had a big sleepover and thought s'mores were a great way to end our night!
And this is what a messy kid needing a bath looks like (Cooper eats the chocolate and I eat the marshmallows, so we have a great partnership).
Baby Jimmy came over to celebrate Daddy's and Auntie Karri's birthday too!  We love cuddle time with him- he is getting so big and is already 4 1/2 months old!  And once again, this picture is great birth control for our Mommy.
Nope, the sweetness in the above picture won't change her mind right now.
Cooper was the garbage man during the gift opening....
Back at home, we found Daddy's favorite cake, carrot cake, waiting for him on the countertop.  Grammy must have read her son's mind.  Daddy asked Mom for a carrot cake and she said in a grouchy voice, "DO YOU THINK I HAVE TIME TO MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!"  He must have forgotten that she was frantically getting her classroom ready, planning a baby shower, prepping for her friend's upcoming wedding (she is a bridesmaid), all while trying to remain calm.  So, no carrot cake from Mommy but thanks to Grammy, she saved the day.
Daddy's birthday was on Labor Day.  You might wonder why he was not in Canada fishing!?!?  Well, due to the delayed construction at Mommy's school, he had to cancel.  On top of the delayed construction, hospital surveyors showed up for inspection (Daddy is required to be present during inspections), so Mommy doesn't feel AS guilty about this situation.   Fortunately, he can go next year because it is an annual deal.  Daddy chose to go shopping on his b-day for new clothes (his gift from us), followed by lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings and a final stop at the train depot.  The train rides are now done for the summer, funny how we kicked off summer with a ride and ended it with one last trip around the tracks.
I covered my ears for 1 second until I was certain the whistle wouldn't blow out my eardrums.
Cooper has the CHOO CHOO (Trucker Arm) gesture figured out.
So long summer!  We had a great time spending time with beautiful weather, family and friends, soccer camp, swim lessons, boating, skiing, and more!  Can't wait for next summer already!
