Mommy also had her last day of Kindergarten for the year. We took a picture on our front steps... she loves that I have my arm around her. She is looking forward to a summer with her favorite boys. We have lots of fun plans ahead.
We captured some last day photos... our daily routine included walking Liberty to the bus stop each morning. Cooper typically was in his jammies if it was a "Mommy Day." We came up with a system... I rode the Skuut to the bus stop and he rode it home for me.
I am excited to spend the summer with Cooper. I have missed my buddy while at school and he now has another "friend" at home!
My school had a graduation ceremony/awards program on the last day. We walked to Pomp and Circumstance while wearing graduation hats. The parents and grandparents (Grammy came) were all geeking out with cameras, smiles and crazy, waving arms.
This is my "Hi, I see you already" wave.
Kindergartners were individually recognized and I received my first and definitely not last diploma :)
My proud Daddy and Cooper
I was recognized again for meeting reading goals every month! I stood up (see me up there) for this recognition and received a book and bookmark too. Here is my Kindergarten teacher at our last "goodbye." On my report card, she wrote, "Caden is such a sweet boy with a kind heart. He is compassionate to others and is well liked by his peers." I also received an "O" all 3 trimesters for demonstrating a positive attitude. My parents said this is the BEST report and comments a parent could ask for.
My summer goals will be to continue to read and write to prepare for 1st grade. I look forward to some playdates with friends too.
Mom was in full Pinterest mode leading up to school with some thank-you's for Cooper's preschool teachers (Mason jars, letter magnets and Gerbera daisies), my bus driver (bus tumbler with Hershey Nuggets wrapped in bus paper) and the school staff (ice cream buffet). How cute are these?!?!?
Here is my favorite after-school babysitter, Gen. We were goofing around (as usual). Gen is like a big, caring sister to me.
To celebrate my graduation, we golfed with my Kindergarten friend, Trevor, and his parents (they live down the road from us). We had a great time golfing... kids golfed well, parents were pleasantly surprised that we were able to hang in there for 9 holes, and we capped the night off with dinner at a nearby restaurant. Hello Summer!
The tubing has begun... we have had 2 outings so far with our neighbors. The lake is still chilly but Cooper and I don't seem to mind too much!
Summer means outside play ALL day long. It also means soccer ended (my last game I scored another goal!) and t-ball has started. My first game included a good hit (infield hit) and then I was able to get around all the bases to score a point. I told my parents that t-ball was "easy" which was a huge relief to them because I was not excited about playing.Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy! We couldn't ask for a more loving, patient, fun, hard-working and awesome Dad. We made him a golf themed card using our barefeet for the greens.....
We made him cinnamon rolls and bacon along with the saying, "Thanks for working your buns off to bring home the bacon!" He loved it.
We made him a mug with our thumbprints....
And gave him collar stays that were engraved just for him....
Cooper enlightened Daddy with a little survey... these just crack us up! We love the "My Dad always says: a lot of stuff to Mommy." Hmmmm...we wonder what "stuff" he is talking about!?!?! Sweet nothings???? Daddy wants you to all know that he is NOT 47 years old.
On Father's Day afternoon, we went to the Mall of America to see our extended family. We went to the Rainforest Cafe and then hit the rides.
We went on some old favorites such as the kid rollercoaster, big rigs and the bouncy seat thingy.
Cooper couldn't stop smiling. We were most excited that the ENTIRE family (Cooper included) were tall enough for the Pepsi rollercoaster (sorry, no pictures of this). Cooper was one spiky hair tall enough to ride.
We went on the log chute with Daddy (Mom excused herself from this one)....
We have a love-hate relationship with this ride. It is fun to zoom down the hill, but Cooper and I think that "Baul Bunyan" is creepy.
We drove the pirate ships around the bay
And we left feeling happy, blessed and loved. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful guys in our lives!
