We gave extra love to our Mommy. She loves being a Mama to two thoughtful and adorable boys!
Cooper loved every.single.gift. His animated responses were for each thing he opened- Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakquel movie, animal crackers valentine box, books, markers, light-up Planes shoes, and "fast" sleds for outside!
I also received treats, a shoe tying book (I can tie!), a fast sled, and my most exciting gift (thanks to my friend Chloe who put the idea in my head)... a lava lamp that floats blue lava. It is AWESOME!
We have been watching the Olympics almost each night just for a little wind-down time. Cooper is determined to either ride the luge, bobsled, be a Super G downhill skier or play for the US hockey team. As you can tell, he isn't picky and we are happy for his um, determination. To prepare for his debut in 14-18 years, he is wearing Daddy's "old school" ski goggles around the house.
We met up with our "old" buddy Mason for a movie date. We saw the movie Nut Job- it wasn't fantastic by any means, but we still had fun eating our movie snack box and then we hit McDonald's for dinner and foosball afterwards.
After a few exhausting hours, Mommy was once again reminded how 2 kids in the house is JUST right :)
Our weather has caused all sorts of problems lately. I have missed 6 days of school now due to ice, snow and freezing temps. 4 of those days will be tacked onto our summer vacation, boo! Anytime we have above zero temps, we take advantage of having snow. We went for a long snowmobile ride with Mom and Dad- we saw only 2 other snowmobiles the entire time and even drove past my elementary school. Too bad I can't ride my kitty cat to school each day.
I celebrated my 100th day of Kindergarten! We made a crown with numbers to 100 and we drew a self-portrait. My self-portrait included a tan person, who was bald, wearing glasses and living in the Bahamas. I reminded my entire family that they could live in my house in the Bahamas because it is ALWAYS hot there and I plan to drive the Disney ship for my job. They get free tickets on my ship too.
Mommy is wondering if all boys are goofy like us. We are constantly playing, wrestling and having random conversations. Above photo is the two of us flinging water out of a old Coca Cola bottle (x-mas stocking stuffer), photo below is Cooper is showing off his tattoo, and the next picture we are wrestling and acting silly with a washcloth. The entire time we have our goggles either on our face or on our heads....it captures the randomness of our lives :)About a month ago, Mom noticed that a bottom tooth was crooked. After investigating a bit more, we found out that I had 2 wiggly bottom teeth! I was adamant to let the teeth fall out on its own. The above photo is on Valentine's Day. The teeth are so loose that one in particular, was literally laying sideways (this drove my parents crazy). We feared it would fall out in my food, at school, on the playground or somewhere we wouldn't find it....
On Friday morning, as I was talking to Mom at breakfast, she said, "Caden, I think your tooth fell out!" I denied it until she urged me to go look in the mirror and what do you know, my tooth was missing! This caused a panic! We weren't sure when it fell out or where it was. Mom took a flashlight and felt for my tooth in my bed, floor, under my furniture and there it was, lying at the foot of my bed.... whew!
We had prepared for this milestone by ordering a Kooky Kritter on etsy; it is a pirate tooth fairy pillow with my name on it. I have slept with it for about a month. The tooth went safely into the pocket and my tooth fairy (his name is Ethan) delivered a Ninja Turtle toothbrush, Ninja Turtle toothpaste, and $2! I was very excited to say the least. We know my second bottom tooth is just days behind. I was most excited about being able to eat a sub at Jimmy John's (LOL) the following day for lunch :) This milestone is bittersweet as it once again reminds us that I am growing up too fast!
Speaking of growing up... I had my second play-date with my "best friend" from Kindergarten today. We spent an hour in the freezing temps going sledding and being pulled by Daddy behind the snowmobile on our toboggan. It is so nice having a friend in class who also just so happens to live down the road. Summer will be even better as we are signed up to play soccer and t-ball together and we will be playing golf together with our Dads on the golf course!
From snowy fun to swim lessons. We continue to take swim lessons every Sunday afternoon at the Y. I am in the highest group of swimmers for my age group (rays). I am down to one tiny float and my teacher has been taking it off from time to time to see if I am independent yet. I am soooo close! Cooper is in Pike 2, almost in the eel class. He just need to build a bit more endurance doing the front crawl a full length of the pool. He is the most fearless kid out there- on the starting blocks, he "dives" (belly flops) into the water. He claims it doesn't hurt... crazy boy! Have a great week everyone! Thanks for checking in!
