Almost there....

I started my birthday celebration 27 days early!  On May Day, Mommy signed up to be my guest at preschool.  Parents are encouraged to come for a morning to celebrate their child's birthday. Since preschool ends on May 24th, we decided to celebrate my birthday (officially on May 27th) early.  On my special day, I got to wear a birthday crown, pick a prize from the Noah's Ark treasure chest, have the class sing a special song to me, and Mommy read our favorite story from home, Bark George and she brought items for the art center to help us make May Day baskets!  It was a fun day and I loved having Mommy at preschool with me :)
Name writing- I can write the letters C and n for my name and am working on the middle letters.  I don't have an overall interest in writing and coloring, but explore letters, shapes, and drawings with bathtub crayons, paints, pens and markers from time to time.
Silly me holding this book upside down... I was just making sure my crown was on straight for my photo op!
All year, I have watched other kids pick a prize from the treasure chest.  I was certain I wanted sunglasses although when I peeked, they only had hot pink star ones.  To Mommy's relief, I decided on some stampers that I can use for art projects at home.
On Thursday, we went to a lambing barn for a preschool field trip.  Thank you Jenny for sharing these photos with us!  There was a day old lamb in the barn (see below)... look at the size difference!  The baby decided to yell "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" right when it was my turn to pet it (see above).  I didn't mind at all, just laughed with everyone else.
We are so happy that my preschool loves us and our siblings... they are allowed to go on field trips with  parent volunteers.  Cooper thinks he is in preschool with me and is quite comfortable around my teachers and friends.  He loves farming and animals, so this was right up his alley.  He is holding a piece of hay in his hand and was yelling "HAY" while showing the camera his amazing find.
Speaking of Cooper.... this is something my parents never experienced with me, but Cooper is a closet pooper.  He finds little corners and hidden areas where he stands very quietly and does his business.  We usually know what's happening because not only does it get unusually quiet in our house, but his face turns beat red and you can smell him a mile away. We are very excited to hit potty training more when our little stinker turns 2 this summer.  It seems he has taken great interest in this already....
Daddy's uncle passed away last week (he was very sick with cancer) and on Saturday we went to his funeral.  After the service, Cooper put on his DUDE hat (he was not allowed to wear at the Catholic mass), and proceeded to pretend he was pottying in the priest's front yard!  The statue of Virgin Mary is the icing on the cake for these pictures....enough proof that Cooper is a sinner at 22 months, ugh!  In case you are wondering, he did not go to the bathroom, but was clearly pretending that he was!  We think he gets the pottying on rocks idea from our dog Liberty who is trained to potty on our rock areas and not the grass.
Mommy and Daddy hosted their 5th or maybe 6th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration.  They decided to not invite 50+ friends and neighbors this year since our neighbors, who co-hosted moved to NM.  Instead, they celebrated with 20 close friends and had a great time (see the creepy guys with stick on mustaches~ we need better border patrol!)  Cooper and I went to Grammy's house for a bakery run, donuts, a sleepover in her bed, lots of other sweets, a showing of the Lion King, and probably some other fun stuff that my parents don't want to know about.
Here are two of Mommy's close friends, Laurie Jo and Becky.  Ironically, they all job-share and despite the desire to start doing tequila shots, they were all on their "best" behavior, ahem  (remember, job-sharing will not be allowed after next year although there might be some developments on that~ we will keep you posted!)
Emily and Barry came in full Mexican costume!  Barry's Mexican flag was around his shoulders when he came in.  Good thing Cooper and I were not home to see Barry as I am certain we would have started to scream, hide, and Cooper would have pooped his pants.
Daddy and "Uncle Ben" (I call Ben my "Uncle" as I do have an Uncle Ben so the name sticks with anyone who is named Ben) spun old CD's that night.  Some favorite CD's on Daddy's playlist-Sir Mix A Lot, Beastie Boys, ACDC, Bush, Green Day, and some other oldies.  Everyone kept asking where the ipod docking station was.
Here are some lovely ladies who stayed until the bitter end- sorry for those who left early... forgot about the camera until the end of the night for the Cinco de Mayo annual Senioritas photo :(
Lastly, I had my preschool Spring Program last night!  I can't believe the end of preschool is almost here.  I will be very, very sad when it ends as I love my teachers and friends.  Mommy, Daddy and Grammy came to the program and Cooper stayed home with our babysitter.
Pre-program preparation....
Waiting in a side room for line up to begin....
Mommy's principal's son is in my class (Cooper) and we stood by each other in line...
Just checking to make sure my parents are watching me!  There are 4 classes for 3 year olds~ 2 a.m. classes and 2 p.m. classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Next year I will attend the M/W/F 4 year old preschool program here!
"Sleeping" during one of the songs....
Playing our tuning whistles before we do our Dinosaur March!
Slippery Fish to end the program!  I sang and did the motions for the songs!  My parents were so proud of me as I have matured and grown to be a confident little boy this year in preschool :)
Here are some of my favorite preschool buddies including Mason!  Mason and I are like brothers (remember, he is daycare mama Jenny's little boy).  We are very different from each other, personality wise, but always have each other's backs and genuinely love each other.  It is so sweet to watch!
We wanted to share baby Jimmy's announcement as we think he is so adorable!  Can't wait to hold you and give you kisses on Sunday!
Yay!  Uncle Matt and Auntie Jill are officially sharing with everyone that Baby Klay will be born early November!  All is going well (besides some morning sickness with Jill)~ I have respectively asked for a baby girl from them.  We are so excited to welcome another baby to our expanding family!

We are excited to share the news that Ben, Erin, Kyra and Bennett sold their house in Georgia and have ONE month to move out of their house....yikes!  Auntie Erin is looking at houses today in the cities and we cannot wait for them to move home!

We look forward to posting some cute park photos from Tuesday (hint Laurie Jo) along with this weekend's Mother's Day photos, a trip to MOA, and family photos as we get to see everyone on Saturday and Sunday!

And our hearts just grew...

Welcome Baby Lindell!  It is with great joy and excitement we share Baby Lindell's arrival.  He came one week early on a very special day... April 24th.  On April 24th, our Great-Grandmother turned 81 (happy news), Grandpa Chris passed away 9 years ago on this day, but life is amazing and brought us James Daniel.  James because it is a family name and Daniel because it is Karri's brother's name.  James will be called Jimmy, since that is what Uncle Jim was called growing up and is still called this by Mommy, Auntie, Grandma and Papa.  It is a special name indeed!  Baby Jimmy was a healthy 8 lb, 13 oz, with lots of dark hair, a tiny dimple in his chin, 20 1/2 inches long, and super long feet and hands.  He is perfect!  Thank you God for our new addition! The above photo makes us giggle a bit.... can you imagine us with another baby!?!?!?  Looks pretty crazy to us!
Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Karri drove to the hospital (Minneapolis) at 5 a.m.  Her water broke that morning so they knew their time had FINALLY come!
After a full day of labor (all good except the last hour of her 4 hours of pushing... SUPER KARRI!)
a prince was born and 2 became 3!
Papa and Grandma Sharon flew in from Florida with plenty of time to spare!
The Lenders also arrived to hold their beautiful nephew/cousin
Mommy felt blessed, once again, to job-share as it was her non-teaching day and was there to meet Jimmy!  Look at how he is looking right at her.... awwwwww!
Daddy, Cooper and I had to wait until the weekend to meet baby Jimmy.  We made the trip over to the cities to spend a few hours and have lunch with the new family.  All looked great, sounded great and were so happy to have baby!  As I exclaimed earlier in the week, "Mommy, that bag in Karri's tummy popped and out jumped the baby!"
Daddy loves babies and tells Mommy often "let's add one more to our little brood."  Mom says yes as long as he can personally deliver a baby and can get up every two hours to breastfeed.
Cooper and I took turns holding Jimmy, touching his sweet little face, and giving him kisses.  I often just sat and stared at him.  I also commented on how much we love each other.  I am so excited for Jimmy to grow up so that I can play with him!
It was hard to say "goodbye" to Jimmy, but we will get to see him on Mother's Day weekend.  Before we left, Jimmy gave us a tiny glimpse of his props for his photo shoot that afternoon with Kristin.
And in case you are curious, baby Jimmy looks just like Uncle Jim based on baby photos.  Ironically, besides having the same name, they were both the exact same weight when born.
We have been spoiled the past few weeks with a few new toys.  The turtle was purchased last weekend (flashback anyone?)... I am quite skilled and quick on this device but Cooper can't quite reach the handles, so he just scoots along with his feet.
Our next BIG toy, was a swingset!  We found a super fun one at Sam's Club (strangely, we didn't think of this place as an option).  The swingset has two swings, a seesaw (or whatever you call it), wavy slide, picnic table underneath, clubhouse up top, rock wall on one side, ladder on the other, and a small area underneath for a sandbox or play area!  We love it!
Mommy asked Cooper to show his teeth when he smiled (above) and then asked me to smile while going down the slide (below).  We were having way too much fun to stop and pose.  By the way, Daddy said he wouldn't wish this job of assembly on his worst enemy after it took him nearly a week of tinkering.
Finally, we discovered bubble containers in our garage and decided it would be fun to fight share the bubbles and chase them around the yard (disregard the snotty noses, ugh weather!)
Have a great time with whatever blows your way this week!
